Established him as an important part of the defence in 2007. Reads play well, extremely fit and runs the lines well.
4. Stewie HAMILTON
Experienced midfielder who often takes on the role of stopping one of the opposition’s better players. Quick and courageous onballer.
6. Anthony BELCHER
Captain of the club. 2006 Best & Fairest. Mobile ruckman who can play forward or back. Has the ability to take the ‘big’ mark. Rarely misses a game.
8. Casey SUMMERFIELD
Coming off a super 2007. Had a run with role usually with the opposition’s best player doing the job admirably. Good overhead and has worked extremely hard on his fitness this pre season.
10. Ty ELLIOTT
Experienced and talented utility that possesses good leg speed and a long kick. 2005 VCFL & Nalder Medallist having his best pre season for several years.
11. Simon ELSUM
2004 Michelsen Medallist returning to the club. Has great versatility, strong overhead, good on the ground and in superb physical condition this year.
12. Cameron MEDICA
Invaluable member of the defence. Often takes a quality tall defender, has good closing speed, carries the ball well and has excellent disposal. Rarely misses a game.
13. Matt McKENZIE
Veteran defender who comes off a great 2007. Often matched against a quality tall but rarely beaten. Plays the angles well and always composed.
14. Tom MAY
In best 6 for Calder Cannons in 2007 U/18 TAC Grand Final. Hard running, courageous midfielder who is a good user of the football and decision maker. Exciting prospect.
15. Heath LEVIS
Hard at it defender who possesses a good kick, is strong overhead and has a never give in attitude. A consistent performer.
16. Ollie MESSAOUDI
One of the BFL’s premier midfielders with an amazing work rate and fitness level that ensures he is regularly in the club’s best players. Always on the bottom of packs, loves a goal and at his best in big games. 2007 Best & Fairest.
19. Darren FARRUGIA
Outstanding small forward with an uncanny ability to kick a goal. Can destroy an opposition in a short space of time. Strong overhead, superb at ground level and courageous.
20. Heath SIMPSON
Excellent young prospect with super leap and fearless attack on the footy. Will develop into a strong defender or ruckman.
22. Tristan JAMES
Talented young forward, good overhead and usually accurate in front of goals. Has the ability to play at senior level.
23. Jason STORIE Jason STORIE
Another upcoming young player runner-up in the U/18 club B&F last year. Attacks the footy strongly, is good overhead and an excellent kick.
24. Kane GRBAC
Up from the U/18’s although good enough to have played a game at senior level already. Possesses the ability to make the right decisions, get in the right places and use the footy well either by hand or foot.
25. Josh DI CAMILLO
Utility player who can play in the ruck, back or forward either at senior or reserves level. Is courageous, a sound kick and always gives 110%.
26. Daniel WEAVER
Exciting youngster who played 9 senior games whilst a U/18 player last season. Knows how to win the footy, is excellent at ground level and has grown in confidence during the pre-season.
27. Jason DUFF-TYLER
Hard working ruckman, good overhead with the ability to go forward and kick a goal. Important cog in our midfield often giving our onballers first use of the footy.
28. Daniel FAVARO
Developing as a player having had senior experience. Is fearless, good overhead and a sound kick.
30. Richard McKIBBIN
Knocks up winning the footy. Uses his experience and guile to invariably be in the best position to win the ball. A consistent performer every week with good hand and foot skills.
31. Scott WALSH
Back from a knee injury Scott is a versatile player with excellent skills who should again play at senior level in 2008.
32. Michael THORNTON
High leaping utility type with excellent skills and good overhead. Is a promising young player with the ability to play at senior level.
33. Grant FARRUGIA
Runner-up in the U/18 League Medal in 2007. Grant has an uncanny ability to win a lot of the footy, has good skills and loves to kick a goal.
34. Aaron STORIE
Another youngster up from the U/18’s. Aaron has excellent leg speed, is a good kick and has a great approach to his footy.
35. James COLLINS
Up from the U/18’s James is a talented player with reasonable leg speed, good overhead and he possesses a penetrating kick.
37. Patrick MAY
Has an uncanny ability to win the footy. With continued fitness development and improvement in his decision making he can be a regular at senior level. Has good hand and foot skills.
39. Ryan DILLON
Talented midfielder with excellent ball skills and the ability to kick a goal. Is courageous, hard working and capable of playing consistently at the senior level.
40. Craig BYRNE
Experienced campaigner who has shouldered much of the workload in the ruck for the reserves. Strong overhead, a good kick and always works hard.
41. Patrick FITZGERALD
U/18 Best & Fairest last season. A developing player with good leg speed, excellent foot and hand skills and the ability to make the right decision.
45. Rory COMERFORD
Back to football this year after illustrious swimming career. Excellent skills and athletic ability make him a hard match up.
47. Jacob FORDER
Bright young prospect. Has impressed in the ruck at junior level, is a good kick who works hard at his game. Will play at the senior level in 2008.
48. Josh CONNOLLY
Another youngster with an ability to kick either foot, take a strong mark or use good leg speed. Continuing to develop as a player.
52. Elliott DREW
Developing player who is good overhead and has reasonable leg speed. Has played well as a lead up forward this year. Has good skills.
53. Josh BAIN
Up from the 18’s Josh is an exciting prospect. Good overhead, an excellent kick and learning more about the game each week. Will play at senior level.
54. Chris WALSH
Quick leading forward with strong hands and an accurate kick. Always attacks the footy strongly and works well defensively.
57. Michael SZATKOWSKI
Back to the club this year. Possesses good ball skills, is quick and courageous.
59. Clay ILLMAN
Another young prospect. Has had the benefit of some senior experience in 2007 and approaches this year fitter than ever. A consistent midfielder who possesses good hand and foot skills.
